Who I am…

I am so grateful to be involved in bringing others comfort through touch. My introduction to the world of bodywork was as a psychology student at Flagler College.  Learning about the relationship between the body and mind was fascinating to me. I knew I wanted to help people in some therapeutic capacity. I was involved in a major car accident while I was in college, and I believe that receiving massage and acupuncture was instrumental in my healing process.  After graduating, I spent time backpacking and traveling, living in yoga communities, taking a deep dive in meditation and traditional hatha yoga, eventually leading me to India for yoga teacher training.  I came back to Saint Augustine to continue my therapeutic education at Health Builders School of Massage, earning my massage license in 1999.

Fast forward many years later and I am happy to say I still love being a massage therapist. I am thankful to be able to practice this craft and connect with people in my community in a therapeutic way.  I enjoy getting to know my clients and figuring out the best ways to bring them comfort and relief from stress and pain.

Most of my continued training has taken place at the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, where slowing down and being mindful are always at the forefront of whatever technique is being taught.  When I work I am looking for places or patterns in the body that have created restrictions of movement or areas of tension while also being mindful of settling your nervous system down so you can fully relax and tune in to what your body is communicating.
